Dr Azhar Alam is associated as Senior Consultant with RG Hospitals Kolkata and is the founder and Head of Colorectal Sciences at RG Hospitals, Kolkata and ranks amongst the foremost names when it comes to Colorectal surgery in this part of the country, for almost a decade now.
Over the years, he has successfully performed more than a thousand surgeries. 

He is amongst the first in Eastern India to have started Laser surgery for benign colorectal disorders and is considered among the Pioneer Laser surgeons in the country today.

He has invented a procedure for Fistula-in-Ano known as “Alam’s Fistuloplasty” which has shown potential to provide exceptional success rates, better than any other existing procedure in the world presently for Fistula-in-Ano.
