Dr. Arun Kumar K. is a Senior Consultant Urologist in RG Stone Urology and Laparoscopy Hospital, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He did his MBBS from Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai in the year 2004 and MS in general surgery at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, in 2007, where he received training in advanced laparoscopic procedures. He had his first paper publication at the institute and his thesis on inguinal hernia and went on to become a model for the Indian Health ministry. He served in the trauma and emergency departments at AIIMS and JIPMER, Puducherry, making him adept at handling both surgical and medical emergencies. His passion towards urology grew during these years and it culminated with a M.Ch. degree in urology from one of the most prestigious and oldest institutions in the country- Madras Medical College in 2012. He pursued MRCS from Glasgow and obtained the degree in 2008, the same year he was awarded the Gold Medal in surgery by the Diplomate of the National Board. He was also awarded the Gold Medal in Urology by the Madras Urological society in 2012 for his academic performances.

Dr. Arun Kumar has an extensive experience of 100 watt Holmium Laser and is an expert in performing Holmium Laser Prostate Surgery. He is a master of RIRS procedure (noninvasive) which has minimized the use of PCNL surgery (key hole surgery) for small and medium sized kidney stones. He has interest in the fields of Endourology and Reconstructive Urology. Buccal Mucosal Graft for urethral stricture reconstruction is a challenging operation and he has done a good number of these procedures with excellent results. Being an Andrologist he also deals with infertility, erectile dysfunction and men’s sexual health.

Dr. Arun Kumar has special interest in Laparoscopic Urology and has performed many complex Laparoscopic surgeries like: Radical Nephrectomy, Partial Nephrectomy, Pyeloplasty, Ureteric Re-implantation etc. including Pediatric Endoscopies and Laparoscopy.
